About SorgenfriSorgenfri is a local street magazine that’s purpose is to give people on different walks of life the opportunity to earn a legitimate income. The 9th issue sold over 13 000 copies, and the magazine has become a established part of Trondheims urban culture.
The processKlipp og Lim is contracted to do several issues of the magazine. By utilizing an existing grid, the aim is to give each issue, foremost the cover, a look that captures the thematics of the issue, and clearly differentiates each issue from each other.
We work closely with the editor and the editorial staff at sorgenfri with each issue. The designer goes over to Sorgenfri’s offices to work the last week leading up to the deadline. We are contracted to maintain and utilize an existing layout (grid, fonts, format etc.) Within these boundaries we tried to establish a visual continuity from one issue to another. We feel that a predictable layout is an important criteria for being conceived as a professional editorial product.
Sorgenfri is one of the few alternative publications in our region. The market is dominated by the leading newspaper, Adresseavisen. This makes it ever more important to have a visual language that maintains and reinforces the integrity of the editorial content. Sorgenfri is able to tell different stories, due to their direct contact with people with unusual life situations, and challenges.
The cover for both issue #10 and issue #11 is made by
Ole here at Klipp og lim.
