Klipp og Lim has produced a documentary movie for
Jernbaneverket in collaboration with
Ofoten museum and sponsored by
Kulturminneåret 2009.
The film covers over a hundred years of history following the
development of the Ofot railroad. The central focus is Katterat rail
station. In the mountains of the north, only connected with the
civilisation by rail, there has through the 20th century been a
population at Katterat. Work and income was mainly related to providing
service functions for the railroad.
The film has a focus on personal stories from different eras, featuring tales of the dramatic events in the Second World War and the hazardous work of construction the railroad in the late 19th century.
The entire film is almost 18 minutes long, presented here is a four minute extract.
