We are proud to present our redesign of the street magazine, Sorgenfri. The magazine will now be published every month, and we hope the new design will contribute to higher sales and even better journalism in the future. The cover features a mug-shot of Rita Ottervik, the mayor of Trondheim.

Back in business

17.08.2010

Well settled in our office after summer vacation, we’re once again ready to take on new challenges!

We start the season by introducing one of our most recent clients, Eltorque. Their new website is now online; we’re responsible for the design and InCreo has implemented the CMS. We’ve also developed their new logo and identity, more on this to appear in our portfolio in the near future.

summerishere

We’ve now all officially gone on summer vacation and we won’t be back until around early of August.

Before we closed shop, we’ve updated our portfolio with four new websites that have gone live. Take a look,  hope you enjoy them.

We’ve got several other projects that we can’t wait to show you once we’re back — until then, we wish everyone a great summer!

Boom! There’s a new version in (gotochina)town, again.

• Fully compatible with all browsers, including webkit on iPhone and iPad (without scroll-bugs)
• Does not need to fully load images before calculating scaling (shorter loading time)
• Letterboxes vertically oriented images
• Standalone — no library needed and no conflicts needed
• VERY light weight (under 3KB for uncompressed css and javascript)
• Easy to integrate into different gallery types (what additional examples would you like? Post your comment)
• Seamless fallback to pure css solution in latest version of all major browsers

So here you go, see the comments in the source code for intructions:

Visuelt 2010

14.05.2010

Last Thursday, the biggest annual event for the creative industry in Norway, Visuelt took place in Oslo. The aim of the competition is to promote innovation, bring further professional competence and present the best work done by creative professionals in Norway.

This year, our Gustav was part of the Jury for Interactive Design and also present at the seminars and the award ceremony. After having been present during the seminars with lots of great speakers, the prize ceremony awarded Klipp og Lim with silver for the Visdom-poster and three diplomas, the ‘Work, Joy, Dreams’-Illustration, NCEI in Moving Image, and TSO in Interactive design. Visuelt has a very high quality of submitted works, so we’re really excited about our work getting noticed!

If you want to read more about Visueltdagene, Onion:blogg did a lot of great reporting from the whole arrangement.

New Books

04.05.2010

Our portfolio has been updated with two new projects that we’ve been working on for a while.

The first one is a book accounting for the activities of the art incubator Foreningen Marienborg Atlierfelleskap from 2005 to 2010. The book features some nifty details in metallic ink throughout, and the text is set in both Norwegian and English. Along with the book we created an artist’s notebook for future ideas.

The second one is the Retrospective Catalogue 2009 for Hordaland Kunstsenter. Over approximately 150 yellow pages we are presented for an account of the art centres activities as well as articles in Norwegian or English about art in theoretical and historical perspective.

The first Norwegian satellite, AISSat-1, will be launched from India on May the 9th. This is a historical moment and we are doing our bit. Klipp og Lim’s contribution is a presentation that explains the purpose of the satellite.

The animated presentation is without audio, and a part of the official promotional material intended for television and web.

The AIS system is primarily a ship collision avoidance system. Today it is based on a range of onshore base stations, each with a range of about 40 nautical miles. The AIS-satellite will expand the AIS coverage area to all maritime zones controlled by Norwegian Authorities

The satellite is equipped with technology developed in a joint effort by the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), Kongsberg Seatex AS, the Norwegian Coastal Administration and the Norwegian Space Centre. The project is funded by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Our short film, Visdom, was screened for the first time at Kafe Larsen April the 20th. The film was shot entirely on that very location and several of the regulars were performing as extras. That made Kafe Larsen a natural choice for the premiering venue. Kafe Larsen is closing their taps for good on April 30th, and this was also an opportunity for a last farewell to one of Trondheim’s oldest serving establishments. We were pleased to experience the warm and spirited reception of the film in a crowded house. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

We also updated the Visdom Flick-set with some more charming snapshots from the session.

Look out for Visdom on festivals in Norway or abroad in the near future.
