The World Wide Web as we know it is only 5000 days old. Now, Kevin Kelly asks; how can we predict what’s coming in the next 5000 days? Based on his experience from Wired Magazine Kelly has also gives speeches and shared theories about Internet 3.0, both at TED and the EG Conference
Someone’s birthday coming up? We’re still some time away from Christmas, but I thought I’d compile a list of some of the places you can buy neat stuff on the Internet which I’ve gathered over time. There are so many sites that sell all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff and I suppose you’ve got to be selective and find your own favorites in order to make some sense of the internet shopping-jungle if you’re looking for something other than selections from Amazon or eBay. Contributions to this list are most welcome! In random order:
Glennz Tees: Lots of well designed and funny T-shirts, available as prints too. A lot of his designs are also sold over at the great site Threadless.com that showcases a large variety of apparel and great designs. Trevor has to be one of my favorites.
Shop Composition: You can find all sorts of stuff here, accessories, bags, gadgets, jewelry, wallets and so on. I like the site and how it’s built, easy to work and a nice assortment of wares.
Gestalten Shop: Books, fonts, toys, posters, calendars, DVD’s and lots more.
Etsy: All things handmade. This site has become quite huge by now and you’ll find almost anything here (if it’s handmade that is :)
eBoy’s Shop: Toys, T-shirts, posters, lots of crazy stuff.
Owl Movement: A nice collection of T-shirts and hoodies. Hosted by Merchline, who has a huge assortment of other online shops.
Pestol.dk: T-shirts, books, mags and other hip stuff.
Jonathan LeVine Gallery: A lot of really nice items here, although some of the prints are reserved for the big spender.
Spike Press: Awesome posters – too bad a lot of them are sold out, but there are still a lot of goodies available.
Straberryluna: A nice selection of posters and prints, ships to anywhere and you might even get some extra goodies when ordering! I personally like the birdies.
BlueFlip Art:A quality collection of prints from a wide range of designers and artists. What’s nice about this shop is that 10% of the purchase price gets donated to a charity of the artist’s choice, so you’re doing a good deed while you’re at it!
